Fear Ascended has arrived in Ark Survival Ascended on October 29 across PC and consoles. The seasonal Halloween event flips the biomes’ spooky side up with a pile of ghost dinos, costumes, event-only items, and quality-of-life fixes for servers and clients. The event runs from 10/29/2025 to 11/12/2025. Event rates differ by server type: standard PVP/PVE get 2x harvesting, taming, experience, and breeding. Small Tribes and ARKpocalypse modes get boosted multipliers up to 5x for specific rates. New ghost variants and dozens of seasonal skins and chibis spawn on their native maps while the event is active.
How to enable Fear Ascended on single-player and private servers

- From the main menu open the Mod tab and search for Fear Ascended (Mod ID: 877752), then install and activate it from Mod Settings.
- For private servers add the mod ID to server launch arguments (-mods=877752), no other changes are required.

Fear Ascended Gameplay Changes
- New Event-Only Weapon: “Ecto Lantern” available to craft in the Smithy, used to help weaken wild Ghost creatures
- Wild Ghost creatures have increased damage and resistance
- Wild Ghost creatures no longer directly drop their costume when killed
- Instead, they now drop Ectoplasm, which can be used to craft their costume in the Smithy
- TMNT Mousers have been spotted across the ARKs; defeating them yields Mutagen Ooze, a new resource needed to craft event cosmetics

With a patch this big, expect Studio Wildcard to release follow-up fixes. If the idea of ghost Argentavis, a Skeletal Giga, or a Zomdodo sounds like a good time, dive in. If not, maybe avoid the red zones for a couple of weeks.
