FBC: Firebreak, Remedy’s upcoming three-player co-op shooter, will feature full ray tracing and path tracing on PC, thanks to a collaboration with NVIDIA. This means players can expect highly realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections that push the visual fidelity to new heights.
The game runs on Remedy’s Northlight Engine, the same engine behind Alan Wake 2. Given that connection, it’s no surprise that this new spin-off from the CONTROL universe will also embrace path tracing technology. Remedy and NVIDIA have also confirmed support for NVIDIA Ray Reconstruction, DLSS 4, and Multi-Frame Generation, all designed to boost performance and image quality.
FBC: Firebreak is scheduled for release on June 17th. It places players inside the Federal Bureau of Control’s headquarters, riddled with supernatural threats and reality-bending events. You’ll take on the first responder role, teaming up with two others to fight off otherworldly invaders.
Before diving into the action, players customize their loadouts by selecting weapons and assembling their Firebreaker’s Crisis Kit. This kit includes grenades, tools, and paranormal augments tailored to different playstyles, whether you prefer healing, raw damage, or special powers. Mixing and matching these options is key to building a team that can handle the most challenging missions.
While Remedy hasn’t revealed the PC system requirements yet, including complete ray tracing and DLSS 4 suggests a need for powerful hardware, especially if you want to enjoy the game at max settings. The official NVIDIA video showcases the game running on a GeForce RTX 5090 at 4K with DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation in 4X mode, giving a visual glimpse of what to expect.
