Faraday Blues Is Coming to Xbox in 2027 With 64 Endings Across 3 Interlocking Stories

Players will place character, memory, and item cards into key moments, with their choices carrying forward through three connected visual novels.

Faraday Blues will arrive on Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2027 with Xbox Cloud support. The surreal sci-fi adventure turns a 52-card deck into a tool for rewriting a family’s history, with choices moving through three connected visual novels and 64 possible endings.

The game received its world premiere during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show Broadcast. Serenity Forge founder and game director Zhenghua Yang introduced the project in Xbox Wire’s world-premiere announcement.

Players take the role of Lina, a mysterious girl who awakens in a place she does not understand. An old computer leads her to a strange tabletop covered with playing cards, including two cards showing her parents. They do not know Lina exists, and both of their lives are already marked by tragedy.

The deck controls people, memories, and timing

The cards in Faraday Blues do not summon creatures or deal damage. Instead, the deck contains characters, memories, items, and pieces of the Faraday family’s history. Players place those cards into conversations, locations, and major events before entering the timeline to see what changes.

Moving one person outside a bedroom can alter a tragedy. Sending two characters into an interaction can change their relationship for years to come. A memory or item discovered in one era may still affect a character decades later.

Timing creates another difficult tradeoff. People cannot be in two places at once, so sending someone to a smaller interaction may leave them unavailable for the next major event. Cards can also move characters toward Order or Entropy, change their suits, and transform their shapes, with some changes carrying into later parts of the story.

Three stories share one timeline

Faraday Blues is built from three interconnected visual novels set across three eras of the Faraday family. Each reality has its own visual identity, atmosphere, narrative style, and version of the apartment, but the stories do not stand apart from one another.

Relationships, memories, items, character states, and endings from one visual novel can affect the next. By the third era, players will face the accumulated result of earlier choices rather than a clean new beginning.

The game includes 64 endings. Some can be victories, although most are not, and a seemingly positive outcome may create a different tragedy. Hidden conditions and card transformations will also open paths that are unavailable until players learn more about the people involved.

Yang is creating the game with co-creator and lead artist Satchely, the character artist of Doki Doki Literature Club, and narrative director Kevin Ye. Kris Wilson, creator of Cyanide & Happiness, is composing the music, while Nichole Goodnight, known for voicing Slay the Princess, is part of the cast alongside other actors who will be announced later.

Faraday Blues is scheduled for release on Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2027, with Xbox Cloud support.
