Battlefield 6 had its open beta recently, and while it showed some solid moves by DICE, the UI and HUD left a lot to be desired. The current setup feels clunky and not very friendly to use, plus it’s kinda ugly. Naturally, the community jumped in and started tinkering with it themselves.
One Reddit user, Oninyourfly, redesigned the entire UI. They organized the game modes clearly, with filters that make finding what you want easier. The class loadout icons got a fresh look too, offering a more straightforward vibe overall. You can see it in action here. Finding the Closed Weapons playlist might become a hassle because it’s tucked deeper in the menus now. Casual players who want to jump in quickly might miss it altogether.
Over on X, YouTuber MoiDawg took a stab at the HUD, making it cleaner and less crowded. The new design borrows ideas from Battlefield 4, with most info concentrated in just two spots on the screen. so less visual chaos, which is a relief during hectic firefights.
Here’s what MoiDawg changed:
- Moved tickets and objectives back on top of the minimap
- Collapsed the compass into the minimap
- Centered points and damage indicators on your vehicle or hands to avoid screen clutter
- Expanded point feed showing individual values and total combined points for kills, captures, etc.
- Shrunk squad player icons, removed extra spacing and health bars, replaced with flashing icons when needed
- Moved class abilities above squad info and expanded them like Field Upgrades to track progress
- Cleared most of the screen to make room for combat ribbons, medals, unlocks, and significant achievements at the top
- Kept objective markers inside the minimap box so they don’t spill out when out of range
DICE hasn’t said anything about tweaking the UI or HUD after the beta, but my bet’s on some changes coming for the UI. Guess they want to polish that part a bit before launch. Battlefield 6 will release on October 10 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Until then, fans will keep pushing for a smoother experience, and maybe DICE will listen.
