F1 25 is about to get a fresh update with patch 1.07, arriving just before Season Two kicks off. This update is important because it slows down team progression in Career modes, introduces new Season 2 content, and addresses various bugs to enhance your racing experience. It appears that Codemasters is taking player feedback seriously to ensure the game remains balanced and enjoyable over time.
Patch 1.07 Highlights
- R&D Upgrade costs for both players and AI have increased to slow down how fast teams progress in Career modes.
- Regulation changes in Career modes will now affect more aspects and occur later, making it tougher for teams to fully adapt before a new season begins.
These changes respond to community concerns about stats maxing out too quickly, preparing to stretch out Career mode enjoyment. They will apply to both new and existing saves.
Other Gameplay and Career Mode Tweaks
- Settings that reduce resource and cash rates will decrease those even more for player and AI when set to “Reduced.”
- A bump on the track surface at the apex of the last turn in Spain has been smoothed out.
- Pit Release has been improved when Pit Assist is off to cut down on unnecessary waiting time in the pit box.
- Fixed an issue causing certain chapters in Braking Point & F1 The Movie to fail if Pit Assist was disabled.
- In My Team Career, upgrades locked behind the Level 4 Breakthrough Facility Upgrade will now be properly restricted.
- Minor fixes to mail issues and the ability to start Two Player Career without Icon Drivers enabled.
- Fixed a bug where entering Two Player Career right after Ranked Multiplayer would disable custom car setups.
Season Two Content and Events
- New Podium Pass and Shop items will be added for Season 2.
- Season 2 Events will include special appearances like Lewis Hamilton at China.
- Elimination Mode will return for a limited time with quicker races and new rewards.
Multiplayer Fixes
- Resolved an issue where starting countdown lights disappeared after pausing and looking at the Race Director.
- Player Hub UI will now correctly return after editing Trophy Cabinet in multiplayer lobbies.
- Points from DNFs in multiplayer races will show properly on the results screen.
- Driver of the Day can now see their own Expression Label post-race in League races.
- “Hide games beyond my license level” option in Invitationals lobby now works correctly.
PC-Specific Updates
- Support for HDR10+ on NVIDIA cards with compatible displays has been added.
- Intel XeFG frame generation now pauses correctly when in menus.
- Alt+F4 shortcut now works properly in all game areas.
- Fixed flickering caused by certain Anti-Aliasing settings in Team HQ locations.
- Minor visual fixes when changing Frame Generation options with DLSS-FG enabled.
Split-screen and Miscellaneous Fixes
- Overtake button icon now differs correctly for players using different input methods in splitscreen.
- UI prompts for continuing appear properly on splitscreen results screens.
- Retired cars no longer sometimes remain on track after red flag restarts.
- AI better identifies correct tyres after red flag race restarts.
- More characters added to various Garage screen backgrounds in F1 World.
- Visual glitches fixed on the 2025 Konnersport car wheel cover and pitlane during F1 The Movie Chapter 6.
- Podium Pass XP is capped at the first 200 laps in any Time Trial session.
- New XP reward added for completing your first Race of the Day.
- Minor UI improvements and general stability updates.
Achievements
- Fixed rare issues preventing “Lucrative Alliance” and “One for the Team” achievements/trophies from unlocking correctly. Players will have to meet conditions again as fixes are not retroactive.
Codemasters also encourages players to report bugs and stay involved via the EA Forums, r/F1Game on Reddit, and their social media pages. There’s a dedicated Community-Raised Issues thread that will keep updating between patches, making it easier to follow what’s being addressed.
For PC players, support guides and troubleshooting tips are available, including instructions on setting up Virtual Reality and Triple Screens, located in the F1 Game Info Hub.
Patch 1.07 will begin rolling out on Monday, July 21, at 10:00 a.m. UTC. Ensure your device is connected to download the file. Season 2 officially begins on July 23, and I’m kinda curious how the new progression pacing will feel over time. Will it keep the Career mode fresh longer?
