October’s PS Plus Essential games are available to claim in the UK, while US subscribers may have to wait a few more hours for the refresh to appear. Members can claim F1 25 and Hunt: Showdown 1896 for PS5, plus Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 for PS5 and PS4, from October 6 through November 2. Sony confirmed the dates in its October PlayStation Plus announcement.
Once claimed, the games remain playable after November 2 as long as members keep an active subscription to any PlayStation Plus tier. Sony also highlighted Spider-Man Brand New Day avatars and themed packs, including the Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle, Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack, and Overwatch 2 Dragur Reinhardt + 5 Tier skips Pack.
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 turns the series’ monster battles into voxel-style action. Players can assemble a team of 4 soldiers, choose their equipment, and take on familiar enemies in redesigned voxel form alongside new threats. It supports 4-player online co-op and 2-player local split-screen.
F1 25 is the official game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship. Career and My Team 2.0 let players take charge of a Formula 1 team, while F1 World adds squad races where friends can compete together against AI drivers.
In Hunt: Showdown 1896, players can hunt bosses alone or in teams of up to 3, then secure a bounty and fight their way to extraction while other Hunters pursue the same objective.
