EWC 2026 Black Ops 7 Playoffs Will Have No Challengers Teams

The August 8 quarterfinals include FaZe Clan vs. OpTic Gaming, with $600,000 awaiting the eventual champion in Paris.

The Esports World Cup 2026 Black Ops 7 tournament will enter its playoff stage on August 8, and no Challengers-tier team will be part of the final bracket. Every organization from that level was eliminated before qualifying, even after some Challengers teams knocked out CDL-tier opponents along the way.

The winner in Paris will take home $600,000, while the runner-up is guaranteed $320,000. With those prizes on the line, the quarterfinal bracket is packed with heavyweight matchups.

Black Ops 7 EWC quarterfinal matchups

Four series are scheduled for August 8:

  • G2 Esports vs. Team Heretics
  • Team Falcons vs. Gentle Mates
  • 100 Thieves vs. Movistar KOI
  • FaZe Clan vs. OpTic Gaming

FaZe Clan and OpTic Gaming are the clear draw. The teams meet only weeks after FaZe ended OpTic’s attempt to win a third consecutive Call of Duty Championship title. OpTic now has another chance to eliminate FaZe on a major stage, though the rematch will need to go its way from the opening map.

Gentle Mates will also have a difficult quarterfinal against Team Falcons. The remaining series puts G2 Esports against Team Heretics and 100 Thieves against Movistar KOI, leaving the tournament with four matchups that could send any of eight organizations into the semifinals.

No team reaching the final weekend will leave empty-handed, but the difference between second place and the championship is still $280,000. The playoff winner will claim the largest share of the $600,000 top prize when the EWC 2026 Black Ops 7 tournament concludes.
