Euro Truck Simulator 2 has rolled out its 1.54 Open Beta, inviting players to jump in and experience a fresh batch of enhancements. If you’re keen on testing these updates, your feedback will be crucial in ironing out any bugs that may pop up along the way. So, let’s hit the road and see what this update brings!
Cargo System Redefined
The first significant change is a complete overhaul of cargo’s interaction with trailers. Previously, each combination of trailer and cargo was a separate model, taking up precious disk space. Thanks to a redefined cargo system, everything merges based on simplified rules, meaning less clutter on your hard drive and more straightforward content addition down the line.
This shift allows for more dynamic gameplay possibilities while keeping things organized behind the scenes for developers. It’s an ambitious project that promises to pay off as they refine it further.
Truck Adjustment Menu Redesign
If adjusting your truck settings felt like navigating through a maze before, you’ll appreciate this redesign! The Truck Adjustment Menu now boasts a cohesive interface that makes fine-tuning your driver’s setup much more intuitive.
You will no longer have to wrestle with various menus; everything is streamlined for keyboard/mouse users and those who prefer controllers. For instance, controller users can easily adjust mirrors while steering around tight corners, talk about multitasking!
PhysX System Implementation
The switch from Bullet to NVIDIA PhysX as the physics engine marks another leap forward in realism within Euro Truck Simulator 2. Expect improved collision detection and object interactions across the board.
This upgrade should reduce the number of instances where objects seem to defy gravity post-collision, a common annoyance previously experienced by players.
Driving Academy – New Trucks Added
The Driving Academy mode welcomes newcomers: Volvo FH Series 5, Volvo FH Series 6, and Iveco S-Way. These beauties are ready for you to test them out in various challenges!
Driving Academy Rewards
If you’ve already completed or plan to tackle the first module of Driving Academy, rewards are waiting for you! You’ll receive exclusive items like a hanging blue traffic cone cabin accessory and a customizable paint job, perfect for showing off your skills!
