SCS Software shared a new Steam community story about Arda from Türkiye, a Euro Truck Simulator 2 player whose time in the sim helped push him toward a real truck driver’s license.
Arda said he started playing regularly in 2025 and was drawn in by the game’s traffic rules, weather, real truck brands, and routes across different countries. He began in single-player, then found Driving Academy and started working through its scenarios, often using the first-person camera while practicing reverse parking and tight turns.
That practice carried into real lessons. Arda said the game, and Driving Academy in particular, made trailer reversing, parking, and sharp maneuvers feel much more familiar once he got behind the wheel for real. He has already completed the licensing steps, though he is still waiting on one final certification before he can start working in freight transportation. For broader context on the sim’s recent updates, Euro Truck Simulator 2 in 2025 covers the map work, events, and Driving Academy.
