Escape from Tarkov’s Reserve D2 Extract May Leave Your Loot Behind
A player reported that pressing the D2 button started the extraction in both PvP season and PvE, even after they had stepped away from the door.

Escape from Tarkov players using Reserve’s D2 extract may want to keep their bags close until they are fully through the door. In one reported raid, pressing the D2 button began the extraction immediately, leaving a dropped bag of loot behind when the player stopped to sort its contents.
The run started with a familiar Reserve plan, the player left a bag and other heavy items beside the D2 button, went to restore power, fought Raiders, and returned with more loot. After pressing the button, they looked down at the bag to reorganize everything. The screen then faded into the raid-end screen, confirming a successful extract while the loot stayed behind.
The reported behavior becomes especially dangerous if you expect the interaction to reset. Walking away from the button and coming back did not start the extraction again. In that situation, the workaround was to wait for the door to open and move through it normally rather than relying on another button press.
[BUG] D2 extract, seems to be bugged, don’t loose a bag of loot like I did

The player said they reproduced the behavior in both the PvP season and PvE. The report did not include a separate test in standard PvP, so that mode remains unconfirmed. It also does not establish whether the change came from a backend hotfix, the latest technical update, or an intentional adjustment.
Until D2’s behavior is clearer, the safest approach is to avoid dropping your backpack or heavy items beside the button. Sort your haul before entering the extract area, or wait until you have passed through the door before treating the raid as finished.
