Battlestate Games has confirmed that a console version of Escape from Tarkov is in development, studio head Nikita Buyanov says in a Tokyo Game Fest recap video that also reiterated the game’s 1.0 launch on November 15. The remark was brief but direct, and it landed as Tarkov exited a long beta era and headed toward a full release on Steam.
Buyanov’s aside doesn’t include platforms or a release window, and it does not mean console players will get the same Tarkov experience as PC players. Many expect a pared down, “lite” variant to accommodate controllers and console hardware. For the broader 1.0 context and what the November update brings, see our coverage of the Escape from Tarkov 1.0 release date and the confirmed Steam listing ahead of launch in our piece on the Steam listing confirmation.
The line is short, and it appears at 02:10 in Buyanov’s aftermovie, where he runs through BSG projects. He says, in English,
Also, the console version, by the way.
That clip comes from Battlestate’s own upload, which the studio published to mark its Tokyo Game Fest appearance in full. You can watch the official post on YouTube for the full rundown.
Tarkov has been in development as a live service for almost a decade and has been in public beta for about eight years. The full 1.0 update promises a new map, fresh factions, and a linear story that can lead to one of four endings. How Battlestate adapts those systems for gamepads and consoles remains unknown. For now, this is confirmation of intent rather than a schedule or platform list, and players should expect more details as BSG moves through post‑launch plans and DLC reveals.
