Escape From Tarkov’s Labyrinth Map Will Become Permanent Feature

Changes to The Labyrinth map bring new challenges for players.

In a recent announcement, Battlestate Games has revealed that Escape from Tarkov’s latest and most brutal map, The Labyrinth, will stick around even after the in-game event concludes. Originally thought to be a temporary addition, its popularity means it will remain part of the game’s rotation — but this comes with some notable changes that players need to know about.

The developers have indicated that while The Labyrinth will still be accessible, getting into it requires more effort. Players can expect updates to make access more challenging and nerfing loot drops, which will change how missions are approached on this notoriously challenging map.

Since its introduction, the labyrinth has quickly become a favorite among players. It offers an interesting challenge for skilled gamers while also providing easier experience points and rewards for less experienced participants across different modes, such as PvE and PvP.

Battlestate Games shared several key updates related to The Labyrinth on social media. Here’s what you need to look out for:

We have studied your feedback on the in-game event The Λabyrinth in #EscapefromTarkov and have made several changes. The event is available for completion until April 21, 10:00 AM BST / 5:00 AM EDT.

  • The Labyrinth location will remain accessible after the event; however, access to it will be more difficult.
  • All event tasks will stay available post-event (except Ref’s tasks).
  • Access to Lightkeeper will continue for players who got the transmitter during the event.
  • The achievement related to the event won’t be obtainable once the event ends.
  • Simplified access to Lightkeeper gets disabled post-event; unlocking him requires standard methods only.
  • Labrys keycards are now limited to barters with Therapist and Ragman.
  • The spawn chance of Shadow of Tagilla and his guards in this location is reduced.
  • The chances of valuable loot spawning in The Labyrinth have been decreased.
  • After wiping, event posters can only be obtained by completing corresponding tasks.
  • The Minotaur’s Lair Hideout customization style becomes exclusive to those who obtain the Dungeon Master achievement.

If you haven’t tackled The Labyrinth, you have until April 21. Prepare yourself — you’re going to need all your skills!
