Escape from Tarkov is getting closer to its long-awaited arrival on Steam. Battlestate Games’ Chief Operating Officer, Nikita Buyanov, revealed that the game has now been wishlisted over 500,000 times on Valve’s platform, marking another step in the game’s steady climb toward a full release.
Buyanov shared the update on X, thanking players for the ongoing support. Half a million wishlists is actually quite a lot, proving that Tarkov’s is just ahead of its competition. The move to Steam is expected to make the game more accessible and for a project that has spent years in its own ecosystem that change feels overdue.

Escape from Tarkov has built its reputation slowly, one patch at a time. It began as a challenging small-scale beta and evolved into a full-fledged survival shooter where every decision can cost you your gear. The growing attention around Tarkov’s Steam push comes alongside other ongoing efforts at Battlestate Games. The studio appears to be managing multiple projects simultaneously, all contributing to the same objective of maintaining Tarkov’s relevance and competitiveness in the shooter space.
At ConsolePCGaming, we’ve watched the game change bit by bit over the years, from early wipes and experimental features to the new direction the Arena mode is taking. The community never really left; it just keeps finding new reasons to come back. That mix of tension, realism, and risk still gives the game its edge, and half a million wishlists prove that players aren’t done with Tarkov yet. The upcoming Steam debut could bring in fresh faces, new stories, and plenty more firefights worth remembering.
