Escape From Tarkov “Protect the Sky” Quest Guide

Find the KOSA device at the Woods gravesite, extract with it, and hand it over to the BTR Driver.

Protect the Sky hinges on getting one quest item out of Woods alive. The KOSA UAV electronic jamming device appears at a gravesite in the northern part of the map, and a failed extraction means losing it before you can hand it over.

Requirements and objectives

The quest is given by the BTR Driver and takes place on Woods. Battery Change is the preceding quest.

  • Locate the KOSA UAV electronic jamming device at the specified Woods location.
  • Hand over the device.

Keep the separate quest Simple Side Job in mind. Completing Protect the Sky before Simple Side Job automatically fails Simple Side Job.

Equipment needed

No specific equipment is listed. The required hand-in is one KOSA UAV electronic jamming device. The device must be found in raid and moves into your quest-item inventory when picked up.

How to complete Protect the Sky

Woods map marking the gravesite search area for the KOSA device southeast of the northern ponds.
The gravesite southeast of the northern ponds, north of the power lines on Woods.
  1. Accept the quest before entering Woods. The device only appears while the quest is active, and it appears in your next Woods raid after acceptance.
  2. Search the gravesite south of the dilapidated village in the north of Woods. Possible spawn points are next to the stretchers, inside a supply crate, next to a supply crate, in bushes toward the lake, and inside a green crate.
  3. Extract with the device. The item is lost if you fail to extract, so picking it up does not finish the hand-in.
  4. Hand the device over to complete the quest.
