Battlestate Games has made another crucial change to how the armor works in Escape From Tarkov. Starting today, armored equipment will work slightly differently, as the blunt throughput damage for helmets and vests will be a bit more impactful. The exact reasoning behind this is unknown, but the change has apparently gone live, as announced by the developer.
What does Blunt Damage mean?
Blunt damage means if a bullet hits an armor or helmet and does not penetrate, it will not kill you, but it will transfer a portion of that damage to the impacted area and limbs. Now, that sort of “fragmentation” will be increased.
Blunt throughput damage for all helmets is increased by 20%, while for armor vests and rigs is increased by 40%.
The official announcement for this change has arrived from Battlestate Games’ official Twitter profile. Some people believe that this change could impact gameplay a lot. This could also give weaker ammo a chance to fight against chads, geared PMCs with armor level 5 or 6. Indirectly, it sounds like a decent shotgun buff, but we’ll have to tinker with it to see how it works.
