Today, the developer Battlestate Games announced a new Escape From Tarkov backend update that will shut down the game for approximately 2 hours. The game will not be accessible during this time. The update notes haven’t been shared yet, but since it’s a backend update, the patch notes might be revealed after deployment.
The announcement was first made through Escape From Tarkov’s official Twitter profile, saying the update will take place on August 29, at 9:00 BST / 04:00 EDT.

The installation of the update has already begun, as it was announced just a couple of moments ago. This might be in preparation for the Lightkeeper, which should arrive in the expanded Lighthouse area and serve his purpose as intended. He’s supposed to be an in-game trader offering some exclusive goodies that won’t be accessible throughout the standard traders.

It’s about time we see something new in the game, but again, considering it’s a backend update, we’ll have to wait and see what exactly has been changed after its installment.
