After years of intense raids, harrowing firefights, and constant evolution, Escape from Tarkov is finally preparing for its official version 1.0 release in 2025. Battlestate Games has just revealed its preliminary roadmap, laying out major monthly updates leading up to the full launch, and it’s packed with quality-of-life improvements, map optimizations, and long-awaited community features.

May 2025 – EFT Patch 0.16.6.0

The May update sets the tone for a year of polish and performance improvements:

  • Lighthouse and Customs optimization
  • Shoreside audio fixes
  • AI behavior adjustments
  • General balancing changes and bug fixes
  • Fixes for missing third-person sounds on armor and helmet impacts
  • A limited-time in-game event will also go live

Tarkov.Community Updates:

  • Items about to expire will now be highlighted on the insurance screen
  • Auto-restart for failed tasks
  • One-click option to buy all items for crafting
  • New map transition feature triggered by holding a keybind

June 2025 – EFT Patch 0.16.7.0

June continues the refinement streak and brings in some seasonal flavor:

  • Reserve map optimization
  • Return of the summer weather season
  • AI and audio engine improvements
  • Obstacle processing upgrades to improve occlusion and realism

Tarkov.Community Updates:

  • Warnings before raids if a required task item is missing
  • Stash auto-sort enhancements
  • Ability to check in-game time during raids
  • Flashlight glare reduced when wearing glasses
  • Missing currency will auto-purchase during buys
  • Improved task sorting
  • Trader UI now shows all attachments when building weapons

July 2025 – EFT Patch 0.16.8.0

July focuses heavily on immersion and audio reworks:

  • Shoreline optimization
  • Ground Zero map enhancements
  • Third-person gunshot sound overhaul
  • Another limited-time in-game event

Balancing changes this month will be guided directly by community feedback.

August 2025 – EFT Patch 0.16.9.0

This will be the final patch before the big release — and it’s going big:

  • Interchange map optimization and expansion
  • A major large-scale event to close out the pre-release cycle
  • Continued cumulative fixes and refinements

Like July, August’s balance tweaks will be driven by Tarkov’s active playerbase.

Full Release – Escape from Tarkov 1.0 (Q4 2025)

The wait is nearly over. Escape from Tarkov is officially set to officially exit early access in late 2025. While we don’t have an exact date yet, version 1.0 will mark the beginning of a new era, not just for the game, but for everyone stuck with it through every wipe and patch.

Battlestate has also confirmed that a revised roadmap will be published in June 2025, likely expanding on the content and systems we’ve seen so far.

This roadmap is a sign that the devs are going all-in on polish, player feedback, and stability before calling Tarkov “complete.” From long-requested stash and UI improvements to map expansions and deep audio reworks, it’s shaping up to be the most refined version of the game yet.

Are you ready for the final wipe and Tarkov 1.0? Let me know what you’re most excited about—the community features, the events, or the endgame polish.
