Escape From Duckov has already sold more than 500,000 copies on Steam in its first 72 hours, the developer says, turning a goofy, duck-themed take on looting and shooting into an unexpectedly massive launch on PC. Team Soda, the studio behind the game and part of Chinese platform Bilibili, announced the milestone in a Steam news post and celebrated the figure as a major early success for the singleplayer extraction shooter.
“What an exciting weekend for all ducks! More than 500,000 Ducklings have now joined the world of Duckov! At this moment, the entire dev team is quacking with joy and flapping our wings in excitement,” Team Soda said in the post. “A heartfelt thank-you to every single Duckling for your incredible support—together, we’ve reached this truly meaningful Duckov milestone! We’ll keep working hard to make sure every update lives up to your expectations!”
The launch also produced large concurrent numbers. Escape From Duckov reached a peak of about 182,000 players on Steam, which puts it very close to the weekend peak seen by Arc Raiders’ playtest. Early player reaction looks strong as well. Steam reviews sit at an Overwhelmingly Positive rating, with roughly a 95% positivity rate from more than 6,200 reviews. A substantial portion of that feedback comes from Simplified Chinese-language users, but English-language reviews are registering slightly higher positivity rates at the moment.
Console PC Gaming previously covered Duckov’s rapid rise during launch week, including how the game compares to other extraction-style hits, and the headline figures help explain why the title is drawing so much attention from players and streamers alike.
