Epic Games has announced LEGO Fortnite Expeditions, a fresh cooperative PVE mode coming to Fortnite on June 18. This four-player experience occurs at the Supernova Academy, where players team up to stop the evil Mask Maker Daigo.
In this new mode, participants will face waves of enemies, rescue citizens, loot chests, and uncover secrets across three launch locations: Utopia City, Spire Excavation Site, and Busted Bridge. The developers hinted at more content arriving after launch, including Demon’s Domain and the Supernova Academy.
One interesting feature is the global Team Projects mechanic. As players complete missions, they contribute to unlocking buffs that benefit everyone and open up new missions. That’s a neat way to urge teamwork and progress collectively.
LEGO Fortnite Expeditions Classes
Players can select from three classes at launch: Shadow Caller, The Hunter, and Rift Ripper. Each class has its own level progression and distinct Hero Upgrades obtained by leveling up, adding depth to character growth.
Accessing LEGO Fortnite Expeditions is easy through the Odyssey or Brick Life modes via a Battle Bus Station. Interestingly, Odyssey will also see enemies from Expeditions arriving in July. Plus, weapons from Expeditions will be craftable in Odyssey once the update is live, with Hero Classes coming later.
One quirk: building items won’t work inside Expeditions, but you can use any owned LEGO-style outfit. That’s kinda limiting, but keeps the mode focused on combat and teamwork.
