End of Abyss will launch for Xbox Series X|S on October 1, bringing Section 9 Interactive’s sci-fi horror adventure to Microsoft’s consoles. Microsoft lists the game for $29.99 on its Xbox Store page.
Players follow Cel, a young combat technician sent with her crew into a sprawling underground facility. The game pairs twin-stick shooting with Metroidvania-style exploration and action-horror encounters. Cel can upgrade her equipment and use tools such as a scanner to open routes through the abandoned complex.

In a Xbox Wire feature, Section 9 Interactive described how the project developed from a fast top-down action prototype into a slower adventure built around exploration and tension. The studio, founded by three former Tarsier Studios members, drew on films, games, comics, and anime from the 1980s and 1990s to give the facility a weathered, uneasy feel.
Enemy designs started with gameplay ideas, followed by creature concepts and rough animation prototypes the team could test in Unreal. That process helped the studio develop different enemy behaviors and bosses for a world where creatures and characters have been left to decay underground.
