Arc Raiders is getting its first post-release map and players will have to unlock it together. Embark Studios will open the new region Stella Montis as part of the North Line update on November 13 and access to the area is gated behind a community challenge called Breaking New Grounds. The event borrows the communal progress idea popularized by Helldivers 2. Raiders who have played a few rounds must contribute to a global objective that rebuilds tunnels connecting the main maps to Stella Montis. Only when the community completes those tasks will the new map become playable.
The North Line update includes a handful of additions that change how runs feel and what teams face. They include:
- Stella Montis focused quests
- Two new ARC enemies named Matriarch and Shredder
- New weapon called Energy Burst Battle Rifle
- Quick use items including Impulse Mine, Timed Mine, and Gas Jump Mine
- Two new playstyles titled Lone Wolf and Trailblazer
Embark Studios says the Matriarch is a hulking ARC that appears under specific map conditions and will be present from the start of Breaking New Grounds. The Shredder is exclusive to Stella Montis and will only emerge once the new region opens, creating tighter, close quarters fights. Embark has not yet clarified whether the new playstyles tie into skill trees or a reputation system. More details may arrive with the update or in follow up developer notes.
The North Line update goes live on November 13 at 1:30 AM PST, which is 10:30 AM Central European Time. Players in some regions could finish the community objective and open Stella Montis long before other regions log in. The game’s official roadmap already listed Stella Montis for November and the new season beats are laid out in that plan Arc Raiders roadmap.
