ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN has received Patch 1.03, a content and stability update that adds support for The Forsaken Hollows, refreshes several menus and displays, adjusts relic and passive effect triggers, and irons out a long list of bugs. The headline change is the DLC support: players who own The Forsaken Hollows will now see that ownership on the lower right of the title screen, and several UI improvements help players manage relics and presets more easily.
The Relic Rites and Character Selection menus got most of the quality of life work: the Character Selection screen can now show currently equipped relics, the Relic Rites menu lets players name Relic presets and reorder presets per character in the All Presets section, and the Results menu can display relics equipped by each player for sessions played in version 1.02 or later. The Collector Signboard shop also gained the Deep Large Scenic Flatstone while Limveld’s shop inventories were adjusted and Fire Pots were added to the Spirit Shelter shop.
On the map and HUD side, the patch adds a toggle for the map’s layer display in Results, highlights the flask count in specific situations including when it hits maximum or when an enemy effect touches flasks, and shows the vertical position of the compass’ rune icon when runes dropped on death are far above or below the player.
Expeditions saw a targeted change to Personal Objectives: players with a Personal Objective that requires defeating a specific target while Reliving a Remembrance can now join Expeditions with players whose Personal Objective does not require that same target, with the caveat that non-target Personal Objectives will only appear for one player per Expedition.
Balance adjustments in 1.03 broaden the trigger windows for relic effects that rely on low HP, equipment passives, and special effects while in some cases reducing effectiveness to compensate. Several passive effects received straight buffs including Improved Melee Attack Power, Improved Dash Attacks, Improved Rolling Attacks, and boosts to Attack Power when Two-Handing, Chain Attack Finishers, Charge and Jump Attacks, Guard Counters, Skill Attack Power, and Physical Attack Up. The patch also increases the power or trigger conditions of multiple relic effects such as Improved Initial Standard Attack and Improved Critical Hits, and it specifically reduces FP consumption while increasing the power of the Wrath of Gold incantation.
