Elden Ring Nightreign just rolled out patch 1.01.3, eager to smooth out some rough edges and adjust weapon drop chances. If you’ve been grinding for that maddening edge or annoyed by odd bugs, this update might be a welcome relief.
Let’s get into what’s changed and fixed.
General balance adjustments
- The chance to find weapons afflicted with the madness status ailment has been increased. For those chasing that particular effect, your odds just got a bit better.
Bug Fixes
- The Whirlwind skill’s effect visibility now properly works when the Relic Effect “[Guardian] Increased duration for Character Skill” is active, so no more visual confusion there.
- The Demon Merchant no longer spawns too close to the Night’s Tide during the Demon Merchant curse event. Yikes, that must have been awkward.
- Damage calculations on enemies when breaking weak points created by Ironeye’s “Marking” skill have been corrected. Some were taking too much or too little damage before.
- Lightning damage from enemies won’t be nullified improperly when the Passive Effect “Power of the Great Ancient Dragon” of the “Bolt of Gransax” weapon is in play.
- The Ultimate Art gauge now fills as expected when attacking certain enemies, no more overfilling shenanigans.
- The Relic Effect “Switching Weapons Adds an Affinity Attack” now properly reflects attributes when applied to Bows and Crossbows. That’s a relief for ranged fighters.
- Rune costs for Uncommon weapons from merchants have been fixed to show the correct amount.
- Players won’t lose battles after being revived from near death against a Nightlord or other Night bosses. That’s a bug I hope you never encountered, but if you did, it’s sorted now.
- Camera angles in some multiplayer fights against Nightlords have been fixed to display correctly when not targeting an enemy.
- Lingering character phantoms will now appear properly in Limveld. Ghostly pals restored.
- Staff information has been added to the game credits—nice touch to acknowledge the people behind the scenes.
Steam-only adjustments
- A bug causing the game to freeze momentarily or for longer periods in some environments has been fixed. That freeze could be brutal, so this is a welcome patch.
