Eintracht Frankfurt and Fire Flux Fill Out the VCT EMEA Stage 2 Playoff Bracket

Eintracht Frankfurt and Fire Flux Esports will enter the double-elimination tournament from the lower bracket on Aug. 20, 2026.

Eintracht Frankfurt and Fire Flux Esports completed the VCT EMEA Stage 2 playoff field on Sunday, Aug. 16. The eight-team double-elimination bracket is scheduled to run from Aug. 20 through Aug. 31, 2026, with the finals taking place in Barcelona.

Both teams came through Play-Ins as Challenger-level representatives. VCT EMEA confirmed Frankfurt’s qualification in an official post, while Fire Flux celebrated its place in the bracket in a team announcement.

Four Challenger teams entered the 12-team Play-In field alongside eight VCT squads. Enterprise Esports, Fire Flux Esports, and Eintracht Frankfurt claimed three of the four playoff places, while FUT Esports was the only VCT team among the four advancing teams.

The eight-team Stage 2 playoff field

The completed bracket brings together partner clubs and teams that fought through the regional pathway. The lineup is:

Team Region
BBL Esports Turkey
Team Vitality France
Karmine Corp France
Team Liquid Europe
FUT Esports Turkey
Enterprise Esports Czech Republic
Eintracht Frankfurt Germany
Fire Flux Esports Turkey

How the Play-Ins shaped the bracket

Fire Flux, formerly known as REBORN, opened its run with a 2-0 win over PCIFIC Esports before beating Team Heretics in a three-map series. Fire Flux took the deciding map, Ascent, 13-9.

Enterprise Esports reached the same stage by sweeping Fnatic and Gentle Mates without losing a map. Joblife also made noise by eliminating Natus Vincere, but Eintracht Frankfurt ended Joblife’s run in the lower bracket.

Fnatic entered the event ranked No. 9 in the official Masters London power rankings, and the loss left the team without a global event qualification in 2026.

Across the Play-Ins, Challenger teams posted a 9-2 record against VCT partner clubs. Frankfurt reached the event through the EMEA Last Chance Qualifier rather than the standard Challengers EMEA route, giving the German club’s esports division a particularly memorable path into the playoffs.

Team Liquid and Team Vitality lead the opening matches

The upper bracket will begin with Team Liquid against FUT Esports and Team Vitality against Enterprise Esports. The winners will continue through the upper side of the bracket, while Eintracht Frankfurt and Fire Flux will wait in the lower bracket for opponents determined by those results.

The winner of Team Liquid versus FUT Esports will move on to face BBL Esports. That side of the draw could produce a run of Turkey-focused matchups, with FUT and BBL joined by Fire Flux elsewhere in the field.

Prize money and Champions Shanghai points

The Stage 2 playoffs will use double elimination, with best-of-three matches across most of the bracket. The lower-bracket final and grand final will use best-of-five series.

The winner will receive $100,000 and eight ranking points toward Champions Shanghai qualification. The runner-up will earn $65,000 and six points. The two top finishers will also qualify directly for Champions Shanghai.

VCT EMEA Stage 2 begins Aug. 20

The upper-bracket matches will open the playoffs on Aug. 20, while Frankfurt and Fire Flux will begin their campaigns from the lower bracket. Neither Frankfurt nor Fire Flux has a second life on the upper side of the draw, so their first series will immediately carry elimination pressure.

Each Challenger team will need to win four consecutive series to reach Champions, with one of the two Champions qualification places available through that route.
