EA FC 25 is stepping up its game with the launch of a new Premium Pass just in time for the highly anticipated Team of the Season event. This marks EA’s first foray into offering a paid Battle Pass, which provides players access to exclusive rewards and content within the game.
The EA SPORTS FC franchise has been a cornerstone for EA, largely thanks to its Ultimate Team mode. Players enjoy creating their dream teams by opening packs filled with player cards through in-game currency or real money purchases. Despite being labeled as the best-selling title in the UK for 2024, reports indicated that EA FC 25 fell short of financial expectations. The introduction of this Premium Pass could be an attempt to boost engagement ahead of one of its most significant events.
What’s Inside EA FC 25’s New Premium Pass?
On April 24, EA revealed the Premium Pass alongside the free Season Pass. Players can purchase it for either 500,000 UT Coins, which they earn through gameplay, or for approximately $10/£9 using 1,000 FC Points.
Purchasing this pass unlocks tiered rewards as players progress by participating in Ultimate Team, Career Mode, and Clubs. You’ll still earn regular Season Pass benefits on top of what comes with the Premium option by completing objectives that grant SP.
The exclusive offerings from this Premium Pass are only accessible through it and encompass various modes, but predominantly target Ultimate Team players. Rewards include coveted player cards like Team of the Season Flashbacks and Evolutions, designed to upgrade current players.
This new Premium experience consists of 40 levels total, with players reaching level 40 earning either a tradeable pack containing four items rated at over 90 or an Immortal Icon Franck Ribery.
Adding this paid option is optional; however, it has stirred a lot of conversation among fans who feel mixed about it. Some players took to social media expressing their discontent over perceived greediness regarding exclusive items tied solely to payment options. “This is honestly a new low,” lamented one user on X; another suggested that having items locked behind such passes was not ideal.
