Techland’s recent Summer Update for Dying Light 2 brought some cool new content, but also introduced crashing problems for several players. The developer quickly responded with a hotfix, version 1.075 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (1.75 on last-gen), focused solely on fixing these stability issues.

Last week’s Summer Update was packed with additions like the Balatro crossover and the UGC Fest, alongside a handful of gameplay and technical improvements. Despite all that effort, some pesky crashes slipped through, leaving players frustrated.

What’s in the July 1 Update?

The latest patch, labeled 1.23.1, after installation, doesn’t bring new features or gameplay changes. Its primary purpose is to put an end to the crashing headaches. Techland’s official message to fans was straightforward: “Pilgrims! We just released a small hotfix focused on fixing the crashes. Make sure to update to the latest version of the game, which will be 1.23.1 after the fix!”

If you missed the Summer Update’s content, here’s a quick recap:

  • UGC Fest
  • Dying Light 2 x Balatro: Friend of Aiden Bundle

Along with that, the patch included improvements in several areas:

  • Co-Op
  • Tower Raid
  • Gameplay tweaks
  • Technical fixes

For those interested in the full list of changes, the complete patch notes can be found. I have to say, it’s somewhat reassuring when a developer jumps on issues this quickly, but I wonder if the crashes will really be gone now? Yikes, fingers crossed.

If you’ve noticed anything different or improved after applying this hotfix, drop a comment below. I’m curious if this patch actually does the trick or if there are still rough edges.
