Sony’s PS Plus Essential games for August 2026 have been revealed, and the lineup gives subscribers three very different reasons to check their monthly games. Dying Light 2 takes the top spot, joined by the co-op adventure Big Walk and the sci-fi horror title Signalis.
Techland’s zombie sequel launched in 2022 to a mixed response, but years of post-launch support have added more content and improvements. Its mix of open-world movement, first-person combat, and undead survival now gives PS Plus members a chance to see how the game has developed since release.
Big Walk is the newest game in the group and is arriving on Sony’s subscription service at launch. The co-op experience sends groups through a large open world filled with puzzles and activities. Communication appears to be central to the adventure, so players with a few friends ready to join should get the most from it.
The final selection is Signalis, a moody science-fiction horror game that earned strong reviews when it released in 2022. Its atmospheric presentation and survival-horror systems helped it build a dedicated following, making it a very different kind of addition beside the action-focused Dying Light 2 and the lighter tone of Big Walk.
With the three games covering zombie action, cooperative problem-solving, and psychological horror, the August selection has plenty of variety. The bigger question is whether that mix feels like a strong month for Essential subscribers.
