Dying Light 2 Halloween Update Adds Three-Week Showdown and New Tower Raid Challenges

The Halloween event for Dying Light 2 introduces a three-week faction Showdown, new Tower Raid layouts and seasonal rewards.

Dying Light 2 has a fresh Halloween event live today with new event challenges, seasonal enemies, and rewards across Villedor. This year’s Halloween runs as a three-week competition called the Halloween Showdown, where players pick a faction each week and contribute event currency to push that side toward milestone rewards. Seasonal decorations and Halloween-infected roam the city, dropping a new event token called Halloween Candy when defeated.

How the Showdown works

The event is structured as three consecutive week-long faction face-offs. Each week pits a different pair of themed rivals against each other:

  • Week 1: Plague vs. Scarecrow
  • Week 2: Van Aiden vs. Count Skull
  • Week 3: CyberRaider vs. Cursed Pirate

Halloween Candies are earned in different ways depending on the week: killing Halloween enemies across Villedor in week one, playing Tower Raid in week two, and completing bounties on Community Maps in week three. Players trade candies with the event vendor, Baka the Unfortunate, to add points to their faction’s tally. When a faction reaches its target, all participating survivors receive themed weapons tied to that matchup; contributions continue throughout the week for a chance at additional rewards.

Tower Raid changes and playable characters

Tower Raid receives new layout variations, random modifiers, and a Halloween-themed rooftop arena that ends in a unique boss fight. Familiar faces like Scarecrow, Plague, Van Aiden, and Cursed Pirate return as playable characters and remain unlockable after the event ends. A new entrant, CyberRaider, joins the roster with a high-mobility, futuristic playstyle. Weapon and item sets for those characters will be updated weekly so each playthrough feels different.

While this update arrives, Techland also published notes for the patch and flagged a multiplayer problem on consoles. Co-op is temporarily disabled on PlayStation and Xbox while the developer works on a fix; more details are available on the Techland update page.
