Techland released a small update for Dying Light 2 on November 24 for PC and consoles. The download is light, and, based on what the community has found so far, this build focuses on bug fixes and data tweaks rather than fresh content. Techland has not posted an official changelog for this update, which is unusual for the studio. The community has already dug into the game files on Steam and reported several concrete adjustments, giving a decent idea of what the patch changed.
Dying Light 2 – Community-found file changes
Steam file entries shared by a user named XeRnUno show the following entries exactly as listed in the game files:
- Bone Smasher Blueprint fixed. Was upgradable only up to Unique rarity
- Set correct value for Head damage multiplyer for Toxic Throwing Knifes in Tower Raid
- Corrected description for the “Ubersaber”
- Added a new loot object in Tower Raid (Suicider Head)
- Disabled three temporary Tower Raid Characters
- Changed and disabled store ID for the Welcome SMG
The files also reference changes to common_texture, which suggests tweaks to meshes or textures. Those kinds of backend edits usually show up as small downloads but can fix a handful of visual or collision oddities. Players should not expect new content from this build. The patch notes do not list an event or new items, and the update may remove the limited-time Halloween Showdown event that ran last month. For readers tracking the game’s recent fixes, this follows a hotfix earlier in November. For a closer look at that rollout, see the coverage of Hotfix 1.25.2. Until Techland issues a formal changelog, some items will remain community-sourced. The Steam entries give a useful snapshot but are not an official developer statement, so expect minor clarifications when an official note arrives.
