Dune: Awakening players have been reporting an unsettling issue where helpful items suddenly vanish after traveling between maps or sectors. The survival MMO’s developer, Funcom, acknowledged the problem and offered a rather unusual temporary fix: wait up to 10 minutes after loading items into a vehicle before moving to a new area.
It’s a bit odd advice. The bug seems tied to traveling too quickly after putting items in a vehicle, causing them to disappear. Funcom’s suggestion is to stand around for a while, up to 10 minutes, before hitting the road again. That’s quite a long pause for a game centered on survival and exploration.
Players on Reddit have been vocal about how impractical this workaround is. One user joked about having to convince gankers to wait alongside them while they try to escape with their precious spice. Another described the wait as “insane” and called for emergency maintenance or a rollback instead. I get it. Survival games usually demand quick thinking and movement, not lingering for ten minutes like you’re waiting for a bus.
It almost feels like an old-school gaming tip, reminiscent of when Nintendo suggested passing a handheld console physically to a friend for local co-op. You kinda want something more straightforward and less frustrating. Funcom says they are working on a proper fix, but until then, patience is the name of the game.
While you’re stuck waiting, you might want to check out some player strategies like “sandwalking” to avoid giant worms and traverse Arrakis safely. It’s a clever trick that’s been gaining attention.
