Dune: Awakening has just opened its Public Test Client (PTC) for patch 1.1.20.0, inviting players to test some fresh changes and new features. This update focuses on vehicle interactions and convenience tweaks that might make your time on Arrakis a bit less frustrating.
So, what’s new? Well, first, the devs have introduced a new mechanic where colliding ornithopters will now receive a force push to separate them. This should cut down on some of the griefing caused by players swarming Carrier ornithopters with multiple smaller ones. It’s a neat fix that might stop those chaotic mid-air pileups from ruining your day.
Alongside that, they’ve added Deposit All Blood and Deposit/Extract All Water buttons to blood purifiers and water cisterns. Yeah, this kind of quality-of-life improvement is the sort of thing you don’t realize you need until it’s there. No more fiddling with tiny amounts; you can dump or take all resources in one go.
To help test these changes, the PTC is handing out some sweet rides: a top-tier buggy, scout ornithopter, assault ornithopter, and transport ornithopter. Players can claim these vehicles from the Escape menu, but heads up, you’ll want to be near storage because you get the parts for the vehicles, not the vehicles themselves. And if something breaks, there’s an in-game bug report feature ready to capture your frustrations.
Also, the devs are turning off taxation and sandstorms for the first week of this patch. That’s a relief if you’re worried about your base getting wrecked while you’re busy testing new stuff.
If you want to dig into the full patch notes, here’s the official link.
Discussion is happening on the Steam Discussion Board and the official Discord. So if you want to share your thoughts or report bugs, those are your spots.
Yikes, sometimes these tests can get a bit wild, but that’s part of the fun, right? Are these vehicle tweaks enough to smooth out some of the chaos on Arrakis? Maybe, maybe not. But it’s cool to see the devs handing out vehicles to test instead of just asking for feedback.
So, if you’re into Dune: Awakening and want to try out the new patch before it hits live, jump into the PTC and see what’s what. And hey, don’t forget to speak for yourself in the comments below, let’s get a convo going!
