Dune: Awakening just got a hotfix that patches a pesky item duplication glitch discovered right after the previous one was fixed. If you thought the saga ended there, well… you might wanna hold your horses.
On July 3, a player shared a how-to guide on duplicating rare end-game items on the Dune: Awakening subreddit, publicly calling out the issue to draw the developers’ attention. It’s a bit of a catch-22: devs can only fix what they know about, but once the word gets out, exploits tend to spread faster than a sandstorm.
Today’s 1.1.15.0 Hotfix 2 targets the duplication exploit around the Exchange, trading, and inventories. According to the patch notes, while you might still see duplicate items visually, they don’t actually exist in your inventory anymore. That’s a clever way to stop cheaters from profiting, but it also means your eyes might be playing tricks on you.
Browsing the subreddit, some players claimed new duping methods popped up as recently as yesterday, mostly involving the Exchange and trades again. If this patch works as intended, those should now be invalid. Yet, item hoarders are a crafty bunch. There’s chatter about a ban wave coming for those caught abusing these exploits, so testing any duping tricks might not be the best idea if you want to keep your account safe. For players frustrated by the endgame, especially with how it seems to favor large guilds, this patch might bring some relief, or at least a step in the right direction.
What’s your take? Do you think this hotfix will finally end the duping madness in Dune: Awakening, or is it just another round in the ongoing battle?
