The Deep Desert Hotfix is now available for Dune: Awakening, bringing several changes that affect the balance between PvE and PvP zones, vehicle handling, and player interactions with sietches. This update reflects the developers’ ongoing efforts to refine gameplay and address player feedback.
First up, the PvE section of the Deep Desert has been expanded to cover the southern half of the map. Within this new PvE zone, some PvP hotspots like Control Points and Shipwrecks remain active. Resource distribution has been adjusted: the further north you venture, the denser and more helpful the loot becomes, including spice. However, the highest-tier resources still appear in the southern PvE areas. The team plans to monitor these changes and adjust accordingly.
Ornithopters received a notable tweak: equipping a Rocket Launcher Module reduces the top speed of Scout Ornithopters by 20% and Assault Ornithopters by 10%. This aims to prompt players to think carefully about how they outfit their vehicles and whether they want to adopt a more aggressive stance in PvP areas. More changes to ornithopters are reportedly on the way.
Another change removes previous restrictions on visiting other sietches. Players can now travel to any sietch within their World and claim land there, with the existing limit of three sub-fief consoles still in place. This should open up new strategic options for land claiming and alliances.
