Dota 2 fans, Valve just dropped the mother of all updates, Patch 7.36. This is no minor tweak, we’re talking about a game-changer here. Innate Abilities and Hero Facets are now a thing. Trust me you will explore this more.
First up, we’ve got Innate Abilities. These are like the ultimate game-changers for your hero, giving them unique powers from the get-go. Forget waiting to level up to feel powerful. You’re starting strong right out of the gate. Every hero gets a unique Innate Ability that is active throughout the match. For example, Dawnbreaker lights up the whole map for allies when the sun rises. Yup, you heard that right. You’re getting free map hacks.
Some of these Innates even add new existing abilities. Take Kunkka’s Tidebringer, now it starts at level 1 and can be leveled up four more times. Valve took our favorite skills and decided to give them a serious glow-up.
Now, if you’re a true Dota 2 player, you’ll want to jump into the details of this patch. There are tons of changes, big and small, that are going to shake things up. Glyph of Fortification refreshes when the first Melee Barracks goes down, which is a big deal. Mana bars for enemies are always visible, making it easier to time your attacks. And dominated creeps no longer bypass Backdoor Protection, meaning you can’t cheese your way to victory as easily anymore.
The attack speed display has been normalized, no more weird calculations based on BAT. It’s now a straight-up number, which makes it easier to understand. Strategy time has been extended by 15/10/5 seconds for the first few weeks post-patch to help you get your head around all these changes.
Valve also threw in some new features for Dota Labs. You’ve got “Persistent Range Indicators” and “Dynamic Health Bar Focus,” making tracking your ranges and health bars easier during those hectic team fights. These might sound like small changes, but trust me, they will make your life much easier.
I don’t want to hold you hostage here, so make sure you go to the patch notes and see how much Valve has added to the game.
