Dota 2 7.41 introduces vision tools, neutral-crafting fixes, and deprecates older GPUs
Patch 7.41 went live on March 24, 2026 and adds a consumable-use indicator, a current-vision display option, Ability Draft corrections, and a plan to drop support for non‑DX11/SM5 GPUs.

Valve released the Dota 2 7.41 gameplay patch on March 24, 2026. The update touches UI, item behavior, Ability Draft, and a handful of bug fixes, and it also begins the process of deprecating support for GPUs that don’t support DirectX 11 / Shader Model 5. The full official notes are available on the Dota 2 patch page.
Key quality-of-life changes include an overhead indicator when a consumable is being used on or handed to an ally within 1200 units, and a new setting that shows the hero’s current vision while holding the Select Hero hotkey, with Fog of War applied. Recipe components were reordered so Quick Buy lists components from most expensive to least expensive in a more predictable way, with a few exceptions such as boots and Blink Dagger.
The update also fixed several edge-case bugs. On-hit effects could fail when more than 256 projectiles were in flight; that inconsistency has been addressed. There were fixes for cases where Observer and Sentry wards were replaced with an error model. Neutral item crafting will now fail instead of consuming an innate neutral item when a player’s inventory is full and the Neutral Item Slot is occupied by an innate item (for example, Witch Doctor’s Gris Gris). Neutral Crafting hotkeys no longer override regular hotkeys if a player clicked the neutral crafting button of a hero they can’t control.
Ability Draft received a set of targeted fixes and matching pool updates. All heroes now retain their innate ability when drafted. Several specific bugs were corrected, including Lone Druid’s Spirit Bear not spawning after some time, Rearm not granting Keen Conveyance, and Techies’ Reactive Tazer not working with Largo’s Aghanim’s Shard.
The patch announcement also noted that support for GPUs lacking DirectX 11 / SM5 is deprecated. Valve said upcoming graphics features and performance improvements will require DX11/SM5, and a future update will remove support for older devices. The developer added that 99.96% of active players have DX11/SM5-capable hardware.
