Blizzard hasn’t announced anything in particular to microtransactions during the Diablo 4 showdown, nor anything of that theme was mentioned. However, streamers at BlizzCon 2019 were allowed to Livestream the game for a certain amount of time, where some of them have managed to engulf a couple of good answers from the developers.

Quin69, a known streamer that is mostly streaming Blizzard games such as Diablo and World of Warcraft, has managed to get a hand on with one of the Lead Developers and ask him a couple of questions regarding Diablo 4.

Quin69 hasn’t missed asking about the monetization pattern which may discover what exactly is Blizzard aiming to do to maintain solid funding for Diablo 4, which may lead to other upcoming Diablo 4 projects. To that, the following was answered:

So, Diablo 4 will be available as a base game, and as I said we’re going to have expansions. We also will be able to acquire cosmetics in the game through…

Furthermore, he continued “It’s very early, so…”, and that’s where the Quin69 ended his stream. With that said, Microtransactions are how any video game monetizes nowadays. It is a strong and also very reliable pattern that each publisher takes, as well as well escorted by the fans across the globe.

Everyone wants to be looking good while his performance lasts, and it wouldn’t be strange for Blizzard to acquire the very same pattern in Diablo IV and follow the path of some of the most popular video games nowadays.
