Diablo 4’s Lucky Coin mystery has finally produced the payoff players have been chasing since Season 3, with a three-coin route leading to a timed amulet, a secret portal, and a fight against three fallen Horadrim. Spoilers follow for the hidden questline.
The hunt began when players first discovered the original Lucky Coin, and the Not Finding a Cow Level Discord has spent roughly three years piecing together its purpose through secret hunting, datamining, and community testing. A recent clue came from an in-game message that read “EverBonk: 1.” The completed route now stretches through the base game, Vessel of Hatred, and Lord of Hatred content before ending in the Foyer.
Get the Lucky Coin and Ring of Misfortune
The first step begins in the outdoor world near the area north of Duriel’s lair. Look for an event where large demons swing a huge axe over a corpse and turn it into an interactable object. Before looting the corpse, aim for roughly 50% or more Lucky Hit Chance and activate a Shrine of Greed buff. Green-marked locations near Duriel’s lair are useful places to search for the event.
Looting the corpse with both requirements active awards the original Lucky Coin. Take it to the Wishing Well in The Downs in Scosglen and throw it into the well to receive the Well-Wisher title and an achievement.
The Wishing Well also provides the first piece of jewelry. Five people, each using a different class, must throw a coin into the well to receive the Unique Ring of Misfortune. A smaller group can handle the requirement by leaving one player at the well while another logs into characters from the missing classes and teleports back to the same location.
The ring is the first part of the accessory combination needed for the final encounter. The second comes from the Luckier Coin quest detailed in the Luckier Coin quest.
Find the Luckier Coin in Nahantu
Search for a destructible Container in Nahantu while under the effect of a Blasting Shrine. Destroying the container can spawn a rat. Follow it for up to 7 minutes and 9 seconds, and it awards the Luckier Coin when it explodes. The Restless Canopy is a useful area for finding the required containers.
After collecting the coin, travel to the Samuk Waypoint in southwest Nahantu and continue southwest to a Moss-covered Grave. Interacting with the grave consumes the Luckier Coin and creates the Ring of the Jinx.
Claim the Luckiest Coin in Skovos
The final coin is tied to four rare elites in the Skartara area of Skovos. Four players must defeat the targets within a few seconds of one another, with each player handling one elite. Meeting the timing requirement causes the new Luckiest Coin to drop for the entire party.
Take the coin to a Pillow in southern Temis, next to The Aegoye dungeon, and place it underneath. Nothing happens immediately. Exactly 24 hours later, the same pillow provides a two-minute window to collect the Amulet of Dark Omens. Missing that window makes the amulet disappear and forces the group to repeat the earlier steps.

Enter the Echo of the Damned portal
Equip the Ring of Misfortune, Ring of the Jinx, and Amulet of Dark Omens together. With all three accessories equipped, travel to Lorath’s old house, also described as his shack, in the Fractured Peaks. A portal called Echo of the Damned opens inside and transports the party to a special area called the Foyer.
Echoes of Donan, Neyrelle, and Lorath await there as a new Horadrim Council encounter. The equipment requirement remains active during the fight, so Echo-Sunray warns that players must keep the amulet and both rings equipped throughout the battle if they want to receive its reward.
Defeating the three familiar faces awards a special Horadric Coin. Its full purpose has not been identified, although one discovered recipe places it in the Horadric Cube with a pair of Engagement Rings and a Lost Amulet to create a pouch containing the original trio of secret accessories. Those extra items are junk finds obtained while fishing.
No additional reward has been confirmed beyond the pouch and the Horadric Coin. After three years of secrets, timed pickups, and unusual item combinations, the route currently ends with the Foyer battle in a fittingly indirect way.
