Diablo 4 has been challenging players more this season, but one creative player found a way to clear one of the game’s most difficult dungeons without using any direct attacks themselves. Instead, they let their army of summoned wolves and werewolves do all the fighting.
The player known as GoblinSorix took 20 pet companions into a tier 65 run of the Pit, a late-game dungeon many builds aim to conquer. Without activating any skills, GoblinSorix watched as their furry legion tore through waves of demons. It’s a slower approach compared to the usual fast-paced sorceress runs, but it’s interesting to see the game’s combat mechanics turned on their head.
GoblinSorix described the experience as “boring to watch, but fun to play,” sharing their excitement and tension in a Reddit post. Their build focuses entirely on boosting their companions, equipping gear that transforms all wolves into werewolves and significantly increases their damage output. Season 8’s boss powers also contribute, sending acid waves that help clear more formidable enemies.
This strategy wasn’t possible in earlier seasons. Blizzard recently updated the game so companions share the player’s stats and bonuses, opening up new possibilities for pet-focused builds. While this method isn’t the fastest way to finish dungeons, it’s a clever demonstration of how flexible the game’s systems can be.
Goblin Sorix is still improving their gear, which could double their damage and allow them to tackle even higher tiers like Pit 70 without lifting a finger. It’s a reminder that sometimes the best way to play is the one that brings you the most joy, even if it means sitting back and watching your loyal lycanthropes do all the work.
What do you think about this pet-powered approach? Have you tried any unconventional builds in Diablo 4? Please share your thoughts in the comments below. I’m curious to hear your stories.
