Diablo 4 Necromancer Skeletons to Be Buffed, Server Side Hotfix Queued

Blizzard‘s highly anticipated Diablo 4 is undergoing a massive stress test during the Server Slam weekend. Amid the troubles, a cloud of concern has been cast by gameplay balance issues, particularly around the Necromancer class and an unusual glitch with goblin loot drops.

In response to a player outcry over recent nerfs to the Necromancer class, Diablo 4 GM Rod Fergusson reassured players via Twitter, stating the team is listening to their feedback and is in the process of implementing a hotfix buff to the Necromancer’s skeleton minions. Fergusson acknowledged the dissatisfaction but reminded players that achieving game balance is an ongoing journey.

A goblin-related issue has also been flagged. Players have reported that these notorious creatures, typically known for their significant loot drops, suddenly leave battles empty-handed. The Server Slam weekend promises to be an important event for the Diablo 4 development team. The high load test not only assesses server capacity and stability but also provides invaluable insights into gameplay balance and potential glitches.

Furthermore, Blizzard’s plans for Diablo 4 post-launch have stirred considerable interest by introducing seasonal content and battle passes. Each new season, launching quarterly will bring fresh questlines, legendary items, class balance changes, and more, keeping the game dynamic and continually evolving.

The inaugural Season 1 is set to kick off in mid to late July, a little over a month after Diablo 4’s early June launch. To participate, players must complete the campaign, then tackle the season’s battle pass comprised of objective-based chapters. Meeting these objectives will yield seasonal rewards like crafting materials and legendary aspects for the Codex of Power.
