Diablo 4 is lining up a Warlock test run alongside its next season

Season of Death Awakening begins on June 30, and Blizzard will also open a Warlock trial that runs through July 7.

Diablo 4 is moving into its next season on June 30, and Blizzard is pairing the rollout with a limited Warlock trial tied to Lord of Hatred.

In an official Season of Death Awakening post, Blizzard said the new chapter centers on ruptures created by dark rituals across Sanctuary. Those ruptures feed the season’s endgame loop, with Gravehound enemies, a chance to summon the Realmwalker boss, and a trip into the Deathtoll Chamber mini-dungeon to earn the lair keys needed for the season’s Lair Boss Hoard.

Blizzard also changed course on Mythic Unique items after PTR feedback. Instead of removing the guaranteed stats that matched a Mythic’s powers, the new setup will keep two fixed bonuses, leave the rest random, and allow players to swap out one bonus for something better suited to their build.

From June 30 through July 7, players on all platforms will be able to sample the Warlock class for free up to level 25. Progress made during the trial will carry into the full game if you later buy Lord of Hatred.

Season of Death Awakening also brings Overwatch-themed cosmetics into Diablo 4. Blizzard said players will earn Eye of the Overwatch currency from elite and champion monsters at the start of the season, then use it to unlock themed rewards that will also appear in the in-game shop.
