Destruction AllStars is a vehicular combat game developed by Lucid Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released for the PlayStation 5 on 2 February 2021, which is tomorrow.
The game was originally planned to release in November for a full price, but it got delayed to 2021. Now, when it’s going to come out, every PS5 user with a PS Plus subscription can get the game for free right off. Sony made this decision when it was announced that the game would be getting delay. Instead, it would’ve been $69.99.
Game director Colin Berry said that being free on PlayStation Plus is “a massive, massive win” for the game in an interview with Eurogamer:
We wanted to be on PlayStation Plus when we launched, that was something the team was really behind. It took a bit of time, and it was a bit of a late hour to get those decisions through, but it’s brilliant for us, because it means we’re now going out to the widest possible audience. There’s just millions of people with PlayStation Plus – so hopefully, they’re gonna try it. One of our aims with this has been to make it pick up and play.
Destruction All-Stars looks like an up-and-coming and overall-fun game having players use cars to battle it out in an arena. It’s something that many Rocket League fans can look forward to if they want to take a break from scoring goals and battle it out in a chaotic demolition derby.
