Destiny 2’s Recent Error Codes Linked to DDoS Attacks

Players of the immensely popular online shooter Destiny 2 have recently faced an upswing in disruptions, specifically encountering error codes CURRANT, COCONUT, and CENTIPEDE. While such interruptions in gameplay can be frustrating, Bungie has promptly stepped forward to clarify the issue.

In an uncharacteristic move, Bungie confirmed that these error codes were not associated with planned patches for a recently surfaced crafting bug. Instead, they pointed fingers at DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks that put undue pressure on their servers and systems. DDoS attacks involve overwhelming a network or service with a torrent of traffic, hindering or halting legitimate users from gaining access.

Typically, Bungie opts to remain silent on such topics to maintain game security. However, they felt it crucial to communicate the situation to their loyal player base, emphasizing the unique circumstances behind this decision.

Bungie’s commitment to transparency and its community, choosing to keep players in the loop about the challenges they’re navigating. As the developers work swiftly to counteract the impacts of the DDoS attacks and continue on their roadmap for future game stability, they remain appreciative of the Destiny 2 community’s continued patience and understanding.
