Delta Force Teases PlayStation Launch, Leaving Xbox Fans Wondering

Team Jade hints at a PS5 release for Delta Force while Xbox version remains uncertain.

Delta Force, the free-to-play shooter developed by Team Jade, has been quiet about its console plans for months, especially regarding a release trailer. Now, PlayStation players might get some interesting news as soon as the developers drop a tease hinting at a PS5 version. Xbox owners, however, seem to be left in the dark for the moment.

Initially announced for PC, mobile, and consoles, the console launch has been delayed, with no official updates for quite a while. The recent teaser from Team Jade on the game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account showed the PlayStation symbols, followed by a playful “Elmo summoning” meme responding to a fan’s PlayStation controller reply. This pretty much confirms the PS5 version is nearing an official reveal.

Delta Force PS5 Version Teased But Xbox Fans Might Be Left Out

Curiously, there’s been no mention of an Xbox release. Considering Team Jade is an Asian developer and many Asian titles tend to prioritize PlayStation, it might be that the PS5 version is getting attention first. Of course, this is my take; the studio hasn’t clarified the Xbox situation yet.

Back in February, Team Jade explained that the console version delay was due to fairness concerns around controller versus mouse and keyboard gameplay. Striking this balance can be tricky, especially for a shooter where input methods can significantly impact competitive play.

Fans might recall the December teaser showing a glimpse of the console version, but that was more of a tease than anything concrete. Since then, Team Jade has focused on updates on PC and mobile versions, including a new free campaign mode. Initially, the campaign was challenging, especially since it emphasized co-op play. Players without friends to join them found it frustrating, leading to negative reviews on Steam.

Thankfully, last month’s update addressed this by making the campaign more solo-friendly. It’s a relief for those who enjoy tackling missions alone, and it shows the developers are listening to community feedback.

We can expect an official announcement and trailer for the console launch soon, at least for PlayStation. Xbox players might be hoping for news, too, but the silence is noticeable for now.

What do you think about the console version delays? Are you a PlayStation fan excited for the release, or an Xbox player feeling a bit left out?
