Delta Force will release its new season titled Break on July 9, bringing a ton of fresh content and changes that might disrupt how you play. From a brand-new assault operator to new maps and weapons, plus a hefty 32.7 GB PC update, there’s plenty to check out and maybe some surprises to get used to.
The update will be smooth, with no downtime for PC players starting at 2:00 UTC. Mobile players will also face temporary match restrictions and downtime around that time. Prepare for a big download, especially if you’re on Steam, where the patch will be about 52.7 GB. Ensure you have sufficient free space, as you may become stuck during the installation process. Also, heads up if you previously grabbed high-res resource packs on mobile, you’ll need to redownload them in this update.
What’s New in Season 5: Break?
- New Operator Claire “Storm”: An assault specialist with an interesting auxiliary spinal column that boosts sprint speed under fire and swimming speed otherwise. Her gear includes a tactical drill charge that pierces cover and stuns enemies, a combat roll for quick dodges, and an emergency dodge device that lets her pull back to an anchor point if in danger. She can even self-revive once in Operations mode!
- New Boss: Raven: A dangerous foe haunting the new Operations map, Prison of Tides. His lore hints at a tragic past as a betrayed royal son.
- New Maps: Prison of Tides for Operations and Cyclone for War mode, offering intense island combat with dynamic weather effects that impact battlefield conditions.
- New Weapons and Vehicles: Tactical compound bow with varied arrow types, a wire-guided missile for engineers, and a two-person jet ski for water transport.
- New Gameplay Features: Swimming mechanics with oxygen management and different swim speeds, plus a new Black Site Collection Room to showcase top-tier loot.
- Season Missions Reset and Update: Season 4 missions will reset completely. Season 5 starts with 77 fresh missions to challenge operators.

What’s Next?
With so many tweaks and new content, I’m curious how the community will react to Claire’s interesting abilities and the new maps. Will the swimming mechanics change combat flow? How will the new boss, Raven, challenge teams on Prison of Tides? It’s a lot to absorb, but that’s what keeps the game fresh, right?
