Deep Rock Galactic players recently encountered a frustrating issue where their mods would disable every time they reloaded the game. The developers have responded with Hotfix S05.10.2, which aims to fix this annoyance and improve the modding experience overall.
After installing this hotfix, you will find a new Refresh button in the modding menu. This button is designed to help when the game struggles to communicate appropriately with mod.io, the platform that hosts many of the game’s mods. It might not be perfect yet, but it’s a helpful tool to try if mods seem unresponsive.
Interestingly, there’s a known UI quirk: when you press Refresh, the game might display a message saying mods have been disabled due to a crash. Don’t worry, though, it’s just a visual error. The mods will still be loaded and working behind the scenes.
Here’s the official patch note summary:
- Fixed issue causing mods to disable after reloading the game, which previously forced players to re-enable mods each time.
- Added a Refresh button to the modding menu to assist with connection problems between the game and mod.io.
Yikes, modding troubles can be such a headache, right? But this fix should help smooth things out a bit. Have you experienced the mod disabling bug yourself? What do you think of the new Refresh button? I’m curious to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
