Death Stranding 2 Reveals Solid Snake Look-Alike in New Trailer

Hideo Kojima is at it again, folks. Death Stranding 2 is set for a worldwide release on June 26, and with it comes a cinematic and perplexing trailer, just like its predecessor. Clocking in at a staggering ten minutes, this new glimpse offers more questions than answers, but one thing is clear: Kojima Productions isn’t holding back.

Among the standout moments in the trailer is the introduction of Neil, played by Luca Marinelli. If his character strikes you as reminiscent of Solid Snake, that’s probably by design. In a clever nod from Kojima himself, Marinelli was dubbed the ‘spitting image of Solid Snake,’ a remark made in 2020 on Instagram. It seems Kojima wasn’t kidding around; the bandana-wearing reveal in this latest trailer channels some classic Metal Gear vibes.

If you ever wondered what it would be like to see a character straight out of a Metal Gear remake, look no further than Marinelli’s debut in Death Stranding 2. But that’s not all. There’s also ‘Magellan Man,’ an imposing figure that could easily be mistaken for an alternate version of one of those iconic Metal Gear weapons. The nostalgia hits hard!

Although we don’t see much of Marinelli’s character, every frame screams potential and sets the hype for what promises to be one of 2025’s biggest releases. Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is gearing up to be nothing short of a cinematic spectacle.

If that wasn’t enough to keep your attention, Kojima works with A24 to produce a Death Stranding movie. Seriously, does this man sleep? With projects like OD and Physint, he certainly has his hands full!
