Deadlock is receiving a fresh update on July 4, 2025, that’s shaking up how heroes dish out damage and manage their spirit resources. If you’ve been grinding those souls and loving your ultimate abilities, this patch might make you rethink your usual playstyle a bit.

Patch Notes

  • Bullet Cycle Time for all heroes increased by 5%, effectively reducing gun DPS globally by 5%
  • Spirit bonus based on souls spent in the tree increased by 25%
  • Ability base damage and AP bonus damage reduced by approximately 8% (spirit power growth remains unaffected)
  • Spirit gained from leveling reduced from 1.25 to 1.1
  • Ultimate cooldowns increased by 10%, affecting both base and upgraded cooldowns, making total cooldown with AP 10% longer
  • 300 Souls Boon now grants an Ability Power (AP) instead of an Ability Unlock

These changes seem aimed at balancing the pacing and power balance of heroes. The slower bullet cycle means guns won’t feel as overwhelming, while the spirit bonus buff and AP swap on the 300 Souls Boon urge different build paths. Increasing ultimate cooldowns could slow down the ultimate spam a bit, which might be a relief or a frustration depending on your style.

What do you think about these changes? Drop your thoughts in the comments below and let’s get the discussion going!
