After Dead Cells got released for the Switch not too long ago, Motion Twin have added Update 21 for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch today. This update was released for PC last December, adding some new content and overall enrichening the game.

Update 21 adds the new Katana weapon, a sword with the unique ability to chain together standard slash attacks with a dashing charge attack. The also adds the Demolisher mob and four new mutations too. Update 21 also added several Christmas-themed outfits to Dead Cells, which made more sense when released. For those that are interested, you can check out the full patch notes here.

If you’re not familiar, Dead Cells is a roguelike action platformer video game inspired by Metroidvania-style games, developed and published by Motion Twin. The game is regarded by many as one of the best titles of the genre, and for a good reason at that. Dead Cells’ fluid animations and fun combat have made it loved by many roguelike fans, and it’s definitely something you should try.
