Dead by Daylight’s 10.2.0 PTB Will Change 58 Perks and Add Survivor Intent System

The Sept. 15 test build will spotlight Do No Harm and Knock Out while introducing preset mid-match messages for Survivors.

Dead by Daylight‘s 10.2.0 PTB is scheduled to go live on Sept. 15 with 58 perk changes and the first test version of the Survivor Intent System. Behaviour Interactive previewed the changes in a Steam developer update, while the full patch notes will arrive alongside the PTB. Behaviour had previously described the feature as an eight-slot Player Intent wheel planned for the fall mid-chapter, with customizable callouts for actions such as unhooking, healing, and splitting up, details covered in Behaviour’s earlier Player Intent wheel preview.

The perk changes are split across three groups. Twenty-six perks will be adjusted as part of the game’s Diminishing Returns work, 23 general perks will receive changes aimed at making them more useful for newer players, and nine perks will be altered because they support unhealthy playstyles or feel oppressive in matches.

Do No Harm and Knock Out set the tone

Do No Harm will lean harder into Skill Checks instead of functioning as another flat healing-speed perk. While healing another Survivor, each Hook State they have will grant 30/40/50% faster healing, increase the chance of triggering a Skill Check by 5%, and make Great Skill Checks grant 3% more progress.

The perk’s revised design is meant to separate it from We’ll Make It and similar healing perks. Players who build around Skill Checks will have a clearer reason to consider it once the changes reach the test build.

Knock Out will punish Survivors who leave a dropped Pallet instead of continuing to loop around it. After a Survivor drops a Pallet, moving 10 meters away from it within the next six seconds will inflict 20% Hindered for 3/4/5 seconds. Breaking the Pallet ends the effect early, including when the Hindered status has already been applied.

Survivor Intent System arrives for testing

The Survivor Intent System will let Survivors send and receive short, predefined messages during a match. The available messages are intended for simple coordination, such as asking a teammate to split up or signaling an attempted unhook.

The system will be enabled by default, but players can choose which messages they use or disable it entirely in the Settings menu. Muting and anti-spam protections are included, and a visual indicator will show when a player has disabled the system so teammates know who can see their messages. Behaviour Interactive also plans to add more selectable messages as the feature develops.

With the PTB arriving Sept. 15, the full list of perk changes should make clear how much these adjustments will affect common builds across both roles. Which perk change or communication option are you most interested in testing? Follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.
