Big news for all you Dead by Daylight fans! The developers are rolling out a massive quality-of-life initiative that’s sure to make waves in the community. From April to June, we’re diving headfirst into improvements that players have long been asking for. With two phases planned, it’s like getting an early birthday gift from the team!
The first phase is just around the corner, and while it might mean some delays for new Chapters and events, it’s hard not to feel excited about what’s in store. Let’s break down what we can expect from this initiative!
Surrender State
The team has recognized how frustrating specific match scenarios can be. So, they’re introducing a Surrender feature! If every Survivor is slugged or all remaining Survivors are bots, players will soon be able to surrender without losing Blood points or facing disconnect penalties. Finally, a way out for those games that feel impossible!
Gamma Adjustments
You’ll appreciate the upcoming Gamma adjustments if you’ve ever found yourself squinting through pitch-black maps. No more stumbling around in darkness; now you can tweak settings on any platform until everything looks just right, without compromising that creepy atmosphere we all love.
“Go-Next” Prevention
You know that feeling when someone decides they want to quit before the match is over? The “Go-Next” behavior has been a thorn in players’ sides for too long. The developers are stepping up with measures to catch these players red-handed! If caught trying to rush off to their next game, they’ll face penalties and lose Grades. Plus, sticking it out during tough matches will now earn you extra Bloodpoints! It’s like being rewarded for resilience, what’s not to love?
Extreme Hiding & Body Blocking Prevention
No one likes playing against Survivors who just hide and wait it out. To tackle this “Extreme Hiding,” AFK Crows will become vigilant little buddies revealing your location if you’re avoiding engagement with objectives. After three strikes from these pesky crows, you’ll even lose collision help, kinda feels poetic justice if you ask me!
Map Offerings
The debate surrounding Map Offerings is real! Players are split on whether they create unfair advantages or add strategy. In response, offerings will no longer guarantee specific maps but increase chances by 20%. Plus, they’ll remain secret during load-in so external factors won’t influence your choice.
Spawn Rules
This change could really shake things up! By ensuring each Survivor spawns within 12 meters of each other (and on the same floor), teamwork gets its moment to shine right off the bat. Just imagine those frantic first moments where everyone knows where their mates are!
Improved AFK Bot Detection
Are you stuck with AFK bots? That’s about to change as detection systems undergo a revamp to identify and penalize them faster.
Bulk Bloodpoint Spending
No one enjoys grinding through menus when spending Points should be fun! Now there’ll be a button for bulk spending—hell yes!
Quest System
The previously announced Quest system is coming back into focus alongside Rifts and Archives updates, which aim to make challenges less tedious while boosting overall enjoyment levels!
Perk Loadouts & Preview
This one’s super handy: players will soon see their own Perk loadouts while in lobbies along with added loadout slots. Finally, a way to plan strategies without scrambling last minute!
This whole initiative feels like music to our ears as it addresses so many concerns we’ve had over time. Hats off to the Dead by Daylight team for listening closely and putting these changes into action! They’re set to recap Part 1 during their Anniversary Broadcast in May—mark your calendars because we want all the juicy details about Part 2 too.
